THE BEATLES’ “SGT. PEPPER’S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND” IN CONCERT PLUS THE BEST OF 1967
"A decisive moment in the history of Western civilization"—The Times of London, 1967
“ Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is the most important rock & roll album ever made, an unsurpassed adventure in concept, sound, songwriting, cover art and studio technology by the greatest rock & roll group of all time.”—Rolling Stone, 2018
On Saturday, December, 3, 2022—some 55 years on--Keith Putney Productions presents The Beatles’ "Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” in concert at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, along with the best of 1967 from the Beatles and more.
Langdon Winner recalled in Rolling Stone that “The closest Western Civilization has come to unity since the Congress of Vienna in 1815 was the week the Sgt. Pepper album was released. In every city in Europe and America the radio stations played it ... and everyone listened ... For a brief while the irreparable fragmented consciousness of the West was unified, at least in the minds of the young.”
Recording sessions began in late 1966 for the album that changed the perception of what rock and pop music could accomplish. In a singles driven industry, Sgt. Pepper was an ALBUM , yet that seemed only to increase its impact, with radio stations exploring it freely. It spent 175 weeks on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart and was #1 from the first of July to mid October of 1967.
In addition to a complete performance of the album, we’ll add classic tracks from 1967 by the Beatles and others, taking advantage of the gifts brought by our stellar cast.

500 Greatest Albums of All Time in 2003, and said:
“The Beatles were never more fearless and unified in their pursuit of magic and transcendence. Sgt. Pepper formally ushered in an unforgettable season of hope, upheaval and achievement: the late 1960s and, in particular, 1967’s Summer of Love. In its iridescent instrumentation, lyric fantasias and eye-popping packaging, Sgt. Pepper defined the opulent revolutionary optimism of psychedelia and instantly spread the gospel of love, acid, Eastern spirituality and electric guitars around the globe. No other pop record of that era, or since, has had such an immediate, titanic impact.”
